Coupled with the fact that you would be joining a dynamic, forward thinking organisation, you would have the opportunity of working in areas of outstanding natural beauty. With a mix of rural and urban communities you will experience a wide range of different challenges on a daily basis.
North Wales is one of the safest places to live in the United Kingdom. Serving a population of 676,000 people and covering an area of 6,300 square kilometres. As a high performing organisation North Wales Police constantly seeks to improve the service provided to our diverse communities.
Please take a look at our North Wales Police information pack (PDF).
North Wales is a culturally diverse area and to ensure that our service is fully representative of the communities we serve we welcome applications from all under represented groups.
In addition to the normal recruitment tests - interview, fitness, medical, security checks etc. and in accordance with the North Wales Police Welsh Language Scheme, all appointments will be subject to successfully demonstrating basic skills in the Welsh language and attaining Level 2 competency.
In reality this means understanding the essence of a conversation in Welsh; the ability to convey basic information and give and receive instructions and directions. To support you in this process the force has provided a self-teach learning package, available in the Welsh Language section.
We recognise that although the diversity of our staff is improving, we are not fully representative yet and we are striving to address this imbalance through positive action support.
